Research rural properties early in your search

It's wise to do a little preliminary research on huntsville area homes for sale even before seeing them. This is especially true in the case of rural property. One needs to make sure there are no nearby mobile home parks, commercial farms ( chicken or hog production) or other negative features.

Starting with 204 COVEVIEW ROAD on Keel Mountain, The link below is to Google's satellite image of the house. Zoom out to see the surrounding area. As best as I can tell there are no negative surrounding features.

Please see the attached topographical map of the property location. It is near the bluff but the lot doesn't show as being too steep. One must be cautious with homes on steep slopes. They are prone to have foundation problems.

The link below is to the Google interactive street view of the house. From this image and the listing's photos the lot does appear to drop off behind the house and there is a slope to the left. The house does seem to be at the crest of a hill so water runoff from above shouldn't be a problem. The road off of Keel Mountain to Highway 72 is a two lane, curvy road that at some points is steep. During the rare snow or ice storm this road may be impassable for a few hours up to a couple of days.

The house has been on the market since 08/03/2011. The link below is to the listing where the current owner purchased the house in 2005 for $175,000.

66 HUGHEY ROAD in Fayetteville TN has been on market since 07/26/2011. There is no archive data on the house in the MLS so we would need to research the Lincoln County probate records to look for it's sale history.

Looking in the surrounding area I couldn't see any mobile home parks or commercial farms but there are mobile homes nearby.

At the link below Google estimates a one hour commute to Redstone Arsenal and Research Park. Considering construction and traffic on north Memorial Parkway, the commute may be a little longer.
